Privacy and terms

What we keep when you sign up

When you join the newsletter we store three things: your email address, a one-way hash of your IP address, and the time you signed up. The hash lets us slow down automated sign-ups without keeping your actual address. We also note which page the form was on.

If the newsletter is delivered through Substack, we hand your email to them when you confirm, and their own privacy policy applies from there.

We do not sell the list, and we do not run third-party trackers or advertising pixels on this site. Sponsored placements are plain links.

To have your email removed, write to hello@fndn.us from that address and we will delete it.

Using Foundation

Our reporting, sleeves and catalog are ours. Quote and link to them freely with credit to Foundation and a link back to the record. Republishing whole stories or sleeves needs our permission.

We work to get things right and correct them openly when we do not. Stories marked as rumors are exactly that, and nothing here is financial, legal or booking advice.

Links to other sites, including sponsors, go to pages we do not control.

We may update these terms. The current version is always on this page.
